Origin of the Caveman Diet

From: Baker, P. (2010). Welcome to the Paleo Diet Blog! Retrieved October 25, 2010, from

This blog provides a detailed analysis of the Paleolithic diet background with documented scientific studies of the concepts and theories in maintaining a balance and healthier lifestyle. This kind of diet lifestyle was originated millions of years ago.

Some of the concepts and theories described are the big bang theory in cosmology, continental drift and plate tectonics in geology, and the Darwin’s theory of evolution in biology. Such concepts and theories have been linked to the Paleo diet because our genes were evolved and formed by our ancestor’s environment including our body’s nutritional requirements.

This means that what we eat today and what our body needs came from our own history, the Paleolithic period. It also stresses numerous publications of journals and books that illustrate different health benefits of the Paleo diet.

Some of these benefits include eating nutritional foods for acquiring optimum health, gaining an ideal body weight, and improving athletic performance. These books were written by well-known leading experts in the world who specializes in studying Paleo diet. One of these experts is Dr. Loren Cordain. Dr. Cordain published three (3) books entitled The Paleo Diet, The Paleo Diet for Athletes, and the Dietary Cure for Acne. They also have numerous programs that deal with individuals’ nutritional and health needs.

These programs help you achieve your health goals such as removing acne from your face, improving athletic performance, having a longer, healthier, and active life, losing weight, and lessening the risk of having diseases.

To achieve these things, you’ll have to have self-discipline and follow the steps of the Paleo diet.
